Group Introduction
We are a nuclear materials research group in Department of Nuclear Engineering, Hanyang University. From March 2020, the group merged with and is jointly run with Prof. Yong-Soo Kim’s nuclear materials research group at Hanyang University. We study various aspects of fundamental materials science with focus on nuclear materials and their electrochemical impacts. We employ both experimental and computational tools including electrochemical characterization and density functional theory calculations.
Group PI, Sangtae Kim, currently works as an associate professor at Department of Nuclear Engineering, Hanyang University. Prior to joining Hanyang University, Sangtae worked at Korea Institute of Science and Technology as a senior research scientist. He received his Ph.D. under the guidance of Prof. Ju Li at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2016 and B.S. at University of California, Berkeley in 2010.
